ABOUT THE ROLE

Stafingo is actively recruiting a certified Red Seal Truck and Transport Mechanics (310T) on behalf of a reputable transportation and logistics client with locations in Ontario and Nova Scotia. These are full-time, permanent positions offering stable employment, competitive wages, and a strong shop environment with a team that takes pride in their work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial transport trucks, trailers, and related heavy vehicles
• Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Ontario regulations
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, drivelines, braking systems, and suspension components
• Utilize electronic diagnostic equipment and computerized systems to identify faults and perform accurate repairs
• Inspect and service hydraulic systems, air brake systems, and emission control components
• Perform safety inspections in compliance with Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) standards
• Maintain accurate and detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs
• Identify parts and materials required for repairs and communicate needs to the parts department in a timely manner
• Operate in full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) of Ontario and all applicable workplace safety standards
• Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and fleet management teams to minimize vehicle downtime
• Mentor and support apprentice technicians where applicable

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Red Seal Certificate of Qualification as a Truck and Transport Mechanic (310T) or Truck and Coach Technician, recognized in Ontario
• Demonstrated hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty commercial vehicles, diesel engines, and transport equipment
• Solid working knowledge of air brake systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and emission controls
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and equipment used in commercial vehicle repair
• Valid Ontario driver's licence (Class G minimum; Class AZ considered a strong asset)
• Strong understanding of MTO safety inspection standards and Ontario OHSA requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment
• Strong attention to detail, sound mechanical judgment, and a commitment to quality workmanship

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with specific OEM platforms such as Freightliner, International, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, or Mack
• Experience with reefer units, refrigerated trailers, or multi-axle equipment
• Previous experience in a high-volume fleet maintenance environment
• Class AZ licence
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for accurate documentation and team coordination

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Hourly wage range: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and certification level
• Overtime pay in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA)

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Shop-based role with some outdoor exposure depending on operational requirements
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces
• Personal protective equipment is required and will be provided
• Shift schedule to be confirmed at time of offer; day, afternoon, and rotating shifts may be available depending on client location

Pay Transparency

In accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (as amended effective January 1, 2026), the expected compensation range for this position is $38.00 to $52.00 per hour. The final offer will reflect the candidate's verified experience, qualifications, and skills.
