Job Description
Calling all Code Compliance Crusaders and Weld Whisperers! Trade in the typical 9-to-5 grind for the spark and excitement of our swing shift manufacturing team. As our Quality Control Inspector/CWI, you are the final word on excellence-the certified guardian who ensures every structural assembly isn't just strong, but perfect and code compliant. You hold the line on quality, making sure our steel sings the right tune.
This is a full-time position that comes with a fantastic, compressed Monday through Thursday (4/10) schedule, 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM. We pay what you're worth, offering a competitive range of $30.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on your experience.
Responsibilities
Your Daily Forge
Check conformance of assemblies throughout the fabrication process.
Confirm the correct drawing revisions are on the shop floor.
Verify assemblies are the correct grade and are code compliant.
Check the visual quality of welds.
Confirm welding machines are operating within required parameters.
Coordinate inspection schedules with outside testing agencies.
Record findings meticulously via piece mark QA trackers on MFC Tracker.
Work with the Foreman on project prioritization.
Conduct job site trips and perform inspections of subcontracted work at other fab shops.
Working hours: 2:30 PM - 1:00 AM

You're the Code Master: Firm, proven understanding of the following codes: AISC Code of Standard Practices, ASTM A6, and AWS D1.1.
Blueprint Fluent: Firm understanding of project specifications, shop and contract drawings.
WPS Wizardry: Proficient knowledge of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Records (WQR).
Tool Talker: Ability to read tape measures and welding gages.
The Messenger: Good communication skills to convey non-conformance and method of action.
Been in the Trenches: Minimum 3 years? experience fitting and welding.3
The Sharp Eye: Vision or corrected vision must be adequate for the work (optical exams required every 3 years).
Certified Authority: Welds must be inspected by CWIs (Certified Welding Inspectors).
