Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional technical support to end-users, ensuring that all desktop systems and applications are functioning optimally. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a solid understanding of computer networking and operating systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support for desktop hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to operating systems, applications, and networking.
- Utilize ticketing systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Remedy to track support requests and maintain documentation.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their technical issues and provide clear solutions.
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to enhance user experience.
- Assist in the management of computer assets and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical problems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Experience
- Proven experience in desktop support or technical support roles.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts and practices.
- Proficiency in using ticketing systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Remedy is preferred.
- Strong understanding of various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and their functionalities.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with users at all levels.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a keen attention to detail.
