We transform unstructured scientific publications, industry reports, and technical data into structured, navigable intelligence using modern data infrastructure, machine learning, and large language models. We are an early-stage startup, and engineers at SOZO play a central role in designing the systems that power the platform. About the Role

We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Developer to help build and scale our AI-driven platform.

This role spans frontend development, backend services, AI system integration, and cloud infrastructure. You will work across the entire stack and contribute directly to architecture decisions and production deployments.

In this role, you will:

• Build full-stack features using React (Web), React Native (Mobile), and Python/FastAPI
• Develop backend services for data ingestion, transformation, and storage
• Build components of our AI pipeline for data enrichment and analysis
• Integrate LLM-based workflows, LangGraph, and vector databases
• Design and maintain AWS-based cloud infrastructure
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines across web, backend, and mobile
• Manage deployments for web and mobile platforms
• Contribute to system architecture, reliability, and engineering standards

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience with Python and backend API development
• Experience building frontend applications with React
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and backend data systems
• Experience designing or maintaining production systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS or cloud infrastructure
• Ability to work independently and take ownership in a startup environment
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLMs, LangGraph, vector databases, or NLP systems
• Experience building data pipelines or AI-enabled applications
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers
• Exposure to biotechnology, life sciences, biomedical research, or scientific data environments
• Strong interest in biotechnology, scientific innovation, or emerging therapeutic technologies

Compensation

Annual base salary: $60,000 – $120,000 CAD

Compensation will depend on experience, technical depth, and alignment with the role.

You will join a small, highly technical team working on AI systems, data infrastructure, and modern web applications. Engineers at SOZO have high ownership and play a direct role in shaping both the product and the underlying technology platform.
