- *Role Overview:**
As a Site Reliability Engineer 3 at slice, you will play a crucial role in the Platform & Infrastructure Engineering team. Your responsibilities will involve designing, automating, building, and maintaining highly reliable cloud-native systems.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, build, and manage AWS-based production infrastructure encompassing networking, compute, storage, security, and observability.
- Take ownership of Kubernetes (EKS) platforms and critical production workloads, ensuring operational stability and scalability.
- Architect and oversee VPCs, routing, security groups, NACLs, ALB / NLB, and connectivity patterns.
- Implement and maintain service mesh (Istio) for traffic control, security policies, and observability.
- Develop fault-tolerant, highly available architectures across multiple Availability Zones and regions.
- Define and enhance Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies aligned with business SLAs.
- Conduct production readiness reviews, capacity planning, and reliability enhancements for critical services.
- Automate infrastructure using Terraform, establish GitOps-driven deployments, and reduce operational toil through automation.
- Lead incident response, post-mortems, and systemic fixes to improve reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers, set technical standards, and elevate the reliability standards for the Infrastructure team.
- *Qualifications Required:**
- 9+ years of experience in SRE / DevOps / Platform / Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, ASG, ALB / NLB, IAM, and VPC.
- Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes (EKS) in production environments.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, Terraform, Linux systems, and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Golang, Python, or TypeScript, along with service mesh architectures.
- Experience in managing systems with strict uptime, security, and compliance requirements.
- Proven track record of leading incidents and reliability initiatives.
