Position Overview

We are looking for Entry Level Software Engineer candidates to join one of our Fortune 100 clients. Successful candidates will receive 12 weeks of training (40 hours/week) to ensure they are ready to hit the ground running from day one. This role requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

About the program: You will gain the skills and certifications required by our clients by collaborating in team-based settings on diverse, real-world projects. Upon training completion, you will be deployed to enterprise or government clients, making an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new applications and modify existing ones using programming languages, platforms, frameworks, and tools used by our clients.
  • Pay keen attention to detail to ensure solutions meet business requirements, are operationally supportable, and collaborate with teams to create visual mock-ups, prototypes, and diagrams.
  • Develop well-structured, readable, and efficient code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Identify, diagnose, and fix bugs in software applications to ensure smooth and efficient operation, while providing technical support and problem resolution.
  • Engage in code review sessions with peers, sharing knowledge and suggesting improvements to optimize performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation (user guides, system manuals, FAQs) to support end-users and future development efforts.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, programming techniques, and technologies through workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand and analyze requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications.
  • Assist in the deployment and testing of applications in production environments, ensuring performance benchmarks and compatibility.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance, project management, and product management teams to deliver projects on time and communicate progress to sponsors, stakeholders, and management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1 year of previous W2 experience preferred.
  • 1 year of previous tech experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of programming principles, data structures, algorithms, databases, and SQL.
  • Experience with software development and programming using Java, C#, or a similar object-oriented language.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (involving a thorough background check).
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. under SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position.
  • Willingness to relocate if necessary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
