We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Systems Administrator to join our team.
Salary Range: 70-85K

In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Assist with the deployment, maintenance, and day-to-day operation of virtualization infrastructure built on Linux KVM and Apache CloudStack.
- Perform routine monitoring, maintenance, patching, and basic troubleshooting of VMware vSphere and vCenter environments to help maintain system stability and performance.
- Support the administration of company and customer Windows Server environments.
- Assist with the deployment and support of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments, helping ensure reliable performance and a good user experience.
- Help maintain VoIP infrastructure and related communication platforms.
- Install, configure, and maintain enterprise server and storage hardware, including Dell servers and SAN storage systems.
- Monitor system performance and capacity across virtualization platforms and escalate issues when necessary.
- Assist with automation tasks and scripting to support routine infrastructure operations.
- Provide support in troubleshooting infrastructure issues involving virtualization platforms and underlying hardware (servers, storage, networking).
- Maintain and update documentation for system configurations and operational procedures.
- Assist in backup, high-availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) activities across the virtual environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Other tasks and duties as required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Familiarity with Linux KVM or other virtualization platforms in a lab or production environment.
- Working knowledge of VMware vSphere environments, including vCenter and ESXi hosts; exposure to vSAN or distributed networking is considered an asset.
- Exposure to cloud orchestration platforms, with interest or experience in tools such as Apache CloudStack.
- Basic to intermediate experience administering Linux and Windows Server environments, including OS installation, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Exposure to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies such as VMware Horizon or Citrix is an asset.
- Familiarity with supporting VoIP systems or business communication platforms.
- Experience installing or supporting enterprise hardware such as rack-mounted servers and storage systems (e.g., Dell servers, SAN storage).
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts related to virtualized environments (e.g., VLANs, switching, and software-defined networking).
- Exposure to infrastructure projects such as system upgrades, virtualization migrations, or data center changes is considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Other tasks and duties as required.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3-5 years of work experience.
- Certifications that include ITIL, VMWare and RedHat are valued along with Fortinet NSE4 (and above).
