Research Assistant – Student

June 8, 2026 to August 21, 2026

One (1) temporary position

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Research Assistant – Student for Summer 2026 in the SCDSB's Research and Decision Support department. Reporting to the Manager of Research and Decision Support, the successful candidate will work on various research projects requiring primarily quantitative and qualitative data analysis and research skills. This position will work on-site and in-person at the Education Centre.

Location: Education Centre - Midhurst, Ontario

Rate:

Summer student, year 1 - $19.80 / hour

Summer student, year 2 - $20.40 / hour

Summer student, year 3 - $21.01 / hour

Summer student, year 4 - $21.62 / hour

Required Qualifications:

University or College student, with professional, workplace experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, editing and report writing preferably using school board or data related to the field of education. Ability to work independently and follow directions. Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Extensive computer experience and a working knowledge of PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, spreadsheet applications and willingness to learn new applications.

Preferred Qualifications

An understanding of qualitative and quantitative data analysis and the ability to organize, merge and summarize large quantities of data or text.
