About the Role:
Sigmoid is looking to onboard a Senior Leader for our FS Consulting Practice who can bridge the gap between high-level strategy and granular operational reality. A true expert in the Financial services space must understand the interconnectedness of Financial Products & Market Dynamics. In this role, you will drive strategic initiatives, foster innovation, and provide visionary direction to our BFSI practice.
The role requires a strong portfolio leader responsible for managing 3–6 key accounts across a mix of new business development (hunting) and account growth (farming). The individual will typically oversee a team of approximately 15–70 members while managing an annual revenue portfolio in the range of $15M–$60M. The role involves hands-on involvement in sales, client relationship management, and delivery oversight.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- An FS expert must understand how the "engine" of different sub-sectors works.
- Banking: Retail (mortgages, cards), Commercial (trade finance, treasury), and Investment Banking (M&A, capital markets).
- Insurance: Life and Annuities vs. P&C (Property & Casualty), including underwriting cycles, reinsurance, and claims transformation.
- Wealth & Asset Management: Fee structures, fiduciary duties, and the shift toward "hyper-personalization" in portfolio management.
- Payments Ecosystem: Knowledge of real-time payments, ISO 20022 standards, and the impact of CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies).
- The ability to challenge a CEO or Board of Directors while maintaining trust. They must speak the language of the CFO (numbers), the CTO (tech), and the CRO (risk).
- The leader must be aware of latest technologies used by the Financial Institutions, Data Science and Data Engineering team
- A leader must drive cultural transformation and "buy-in" across silos, the ability to build partnerships between traditional banks and nimble Fintech/Insurtech startups.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and business development teams to develop go-to-market strategies, identify key clients, and drive new business opportunities.
- Work in a matrix environment, manage and deliver solutions/POVs across multiple accounts/clients and regions
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in technology driving Digital Transformation & data democratization, leveraging technology to define and deliver value to our clients.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics, adjusting our strategy and offerings as needed.
- Lead a diverse team of consultants and subject matter experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Partner with clients to understand their business challenges and opportunities, providing strategic guidance and innovative solutions
- Drive thought leadership initiatives, representing our company at industry events, conferences, and forums
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BE / BTech - CS) from Tier I / II universities like IIT’s / NIT’s and MBA from Top Tier B-schools (IIM) preferred
- 15-20 Years of Experience in the financial services industry, with a track record of success in strategic leadership roles
- Robust experience in Retail, Investment Bank/Capital Markets, Asset Management, Wealth management, Insurance & Payments.
- Exposure in Risk management – credit, market, operational risk
- Exposure in Compliance management – AML/KYC, Trading Compliance, Risk & Suitability
Desired Skills:
- Understanding of applications of statistical and machine learning algorithms
- Strong project management and team management skills and ability to work with global teams
- Hands on quantitative experience with analytic tools and technologies
- A self-starter who can work well with minimal guidance
- Exposure to Pre-Sales is highly desirable
- Exposure to Financial Services across US, EU and APAC
