Job Description
Bakery Sous Chef / Head Chef
We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Bakery Sous Chef / Head Chef with 8+ years of experience in bakery and pastry operations. The candidate will be responsible for leading the bakery team, maintaining product quality, developing new recipes, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily bakery and pastry operations
- Prepare a wide range of baked goods including breads, cakes, pastries, and desserts
- Develop and standardize recipes and menu items
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all products
- Supervise and train junior chefs and bakery staff
- Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards
- Manage inventory, stock control, and vendor coordination
- Control food cost and minimize wastage
- Plan production schedules based on business requirements
- Coordinate with management for menu planning and new product launches
Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in bakery/pastry (Senior Chef role)
- Strong expertise in artisan breads, desserts, and bakery production
- Leadership and team management skills
- Good knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace
- Creativity and attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in luxury hotels, premium cafes, or restaurant chains
- Knowledge of international bakery trends and techniques
- Ability to handle high-volume production
