ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Accountant who is hands-on, dependable, and eager to grow with our team. You will take care of the complete accounting function of our automobile showroom — from day-to-day bookkeeping all the way to finalisation of accounts, taxation, and audit. This is a role for someone who takes pride in their work, keeps things accurate and is comfortable working with people across the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accounts Finalization
- Prepare and finalize the company's accounts at the end of every month, quarter and financial year.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and up to date.
- Prepare Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow statements as required.
- Ensure all outstanding receivables and payables are tracked and reconciled regularly.
2. Taxation
- Manage GST compliance — prepare, file, and reconcile monthly and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9).
- Handle TDS deductions, timely deposit and quarterly return filing (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.).
- Coordinate with the CA for advance tax computations and income tax filings.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and make sure the business remains fully compliant.
3. Audit Management
- Be the primary point of contact during statutory and internal audits.
- Prepare all necessary schedules, statements and supporting documents required by auditors.
- Resolve audit queries in a timely manner and implement any recommendations.
- Ensure accounting records are audit-ready at all times — not just at year-end.
4. Day-to-Day Accounting
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable — ensure timely payments and collections.
- Process and verify vendor invoices, employee expense claims, and petty cash.
- Handle vehicle purchase and sales accounting in coordination with the sales team.
- Monitor bank accounts, prepare bank reconciliation statements and handle cash management.
5. Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare monthly MIS reports and financial summaries for management review.
- Coordinate with banks, auditors, CA firm, and government departments as needed.
- Work closely with the sales, service, and spare parts teams to support financial processes.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning as required.
What We Are Looking For:-
Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
- CA Inter or candidates pursuing CA / CMA qualification will be given preference.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience — experience in an automobile dealership, retail business or service industry is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge
- Good working knowledge of GST, TDS and income tax compliance.
- Comfortable working with Tally ERP / Tally Prime (or similar accounting software).
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word for reports and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work independently.
