Position Overview -

This role is ideal for entry-level to early-career IT professionals (1–3 years of experience) or recent graduates with technical training who want to build hands-on experience in hardware deployment, troubleshooting, and enterprise IT support.

The Field Engineer will perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of desktop systems, laptops, printers, networking devices, and low-end servers while ensuring high levels of customer service and SLA compliance.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop hardware systems
  • Perform basic hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Provide support for PCs, servers, printers, and network devices
  • Install and maintain operating systems and enterprise applications
  • Perform disk replacement on enterprise storage systems
  • Support legacy systems and core server infrastructure
  • Execute IMAC activities (Install, Move, Add, Change)
  • Perform PC imaging, re-imaging, and system reloads
  • Test and certify PC systems, networks, and approved applications
  • Document activities and update tickets within the incident management system
  • Escalate unresolved issues when necessary
  • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met

Required Qualifications -

  • 1–3 years of computer support experience
  • Experience with computer hardware setup
  • Experience with basic hardware troubleshooting
  • Experience with software troubleshooting
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite at a secure government facility

Preferred Qualifications -

  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Experience supporting enterprise desktop environments
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting and server support
