SAP S/4HANA RISE Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementations on SAP Rise. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering large-scale SAP transformation programs, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful go-lives within budget and timeline. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and deep understanding of SAP Rise deployment models and S/4HANA best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Lead full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations from project initiation through hypercare and transition to support
• Develop comprehensive project plans, work breakdown structures, resource plans, and budgets
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
• Oversee Fit-to-Standard workshops and drive adoption of SAP best practices to minimize customization

Stakeholder Management

• Manage customer expectations and communicate project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies
• Build trusted relationships with client business process owners and IT leadership

Team Leadership

• Lead cross-functional project teams including functional consultants, technical developers, integration specialists, and testing resources
• Manage internal and external resources including subcontractors and offshore teams
• Foster collaborative working relationships between client teams and implementation partners
• Resolve team conflicts and remove roadblocks to maintain project momentum
• Onboarding and Offboarding of SI resources
• Timesheet and expense approval processes

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the implementation lifecycle
• Establish and maintain RAID logs with regular reviews and updates
• Escalate critical issues to appropriate leadership levels with recommended solutions

Quality & Governance

• Ensure adherence to implementation methodology and project governance standards
• Conduct quality reviews at key milestones including design sign-off, build completion, and go-live readiness
• Manage change control process for scope, timeline, and budget changes

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of SAP project management experience
• At least 3 full lifecycle SAP S4HANA implementations with direct project management responsibility
• Minimum 2 SAP Rise or SAP cloud deployment projects
• Experience managing Greenfield implementations with Fit-to-Standard approach
• Track record of delivering projects with budgets exceeding $5M and teams of 20+ resources
• Experience in at least two industry verticals such as Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Retail, or Life Sciences

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of SAP S4HANA architecture and deployment options
• Familiarity with SAP Rise commercial and operational model
• Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and deliverables, certification preferred
• Understanding of SAP integration technologies including BTP, CPI, and API management
• Awareness of SAP Signavio, SAP Enable Now, and other SAP ecosystem tools
• Understanding of data migration strategies and tools including SAP Migration Cockpit

Project Management Skills

• Strong proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira
• Expertise in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies
• Experience with SAP Activate phases: Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run
• Budget management and financial tracking capabilities
• Resource planning and capacity management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
• SAP Activate certification
• Agile or Scrum Master certification
• Experience with multi-country or global rollout programs
• Background as SAP functional consultant before transitioning to project management is preferred

Travel Requirements

• Willingness to travel up to 50% based on project requirements
• Flexibility for onsite presence during critical project phases including workshops, testing, cutover, and go-live
