The Role:
The Senior Data Security Engineer designs and implements controls to protect structured and unstructured enterprise data across on-prem and cloud environments. This role focuses on data protection, encryption, DLP and secure data lifecycle management.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Implement and manage data classification frameworks
- Design and deploy encryption (at rest, in transit, and in use)
- Engineer DLP controls across endpoints, SaaS, cloud storage, and databases
- Secure data lakes, warehouses, and analytics platforms
- Implement tokenization, masking, and anonymization solutions
- Support regulatory compliance (PII, PHI, PCI, etc.)
- Monitor and respond to data exfiltration risks
- Partner with AI/ML teams to ensure secure data usage
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- 6–10 years in data security or security engineering
- Strong knowledge of encryption, key management, and data lifecycle controls
- Experience with cloud-native data platforms
- Experience with DLP tooling and CASB/SSE platforms
- Familiarity with privacy and regulatory frameworks
- Experience securing AI training datasets
- Knowledge of data lineage and metadata management
- Background in database or big data engineering
