Overview

A full-time grant-funded Research Associate position in the area of drug-mediated regulation of chronic inflammation is available beginning October 1, 2025 for 8 months with the possibility of an extension. This position requires expertise in cell biology, molecular biology, and animal work. The expected salary for this position is $68,932 per year.

Qualifications

  • A PhD degree in life sciences (e.g. biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, pharmacology).
  • Additional years of postdoctoral experience in a related area.
  • Proficiency with the following techniques is essential:
  • Mammalian cell culture
  • Methods to identify drug–protein target and off-target interactions
  • Protein expression and localization
  • Western blotting (immunoprecipitation, pull-down assays)
  • Immunohisto- and cytochemistry using multi-fluorochromes and confocal microscopy
  • Multiplex cytokine analysis (Mesoscale)
  • Gene expression
  • Quantitative RT-PCR
  • RNA interference
  • Experience in all aspects of mouse protocol development and handling.

Additional requirements

  • Experience as a lab manager.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in setting and achieving goals.
  • Ability to educate and train undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Ability to arrange, interpret, and graph data using computer software (Prism Graph Pad, SPSS).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of the PI and collaborator teams.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication and organizational skills.
