Job Tittle- Controller Finance
SBI Canada Bank is currently recruiting for Controller- Finance. This position will report to the CFO and will be primarily responsible for performing the following functions.
Our remuneration package includes an attractive base salary, a variable component in the form of annual bonus, other key plans such as health and well-being benefits including medical, dental, vision & mental health coverage, paid time off, and concessional banking benefits.
Location: Downtown Toronto (Financial District); on site attendance 5 days per week
Job Description
· Responsible for accuracy of financial statements including Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Deposit/Loans
· Prepare strategic business plan, annual business plan, various scenarios of financial projections and perform in-depth analysis.
· Ensure timely preparation and submission of direct taxes and indirect taxes (annual returns, monthly withholding tax, monthly payment of taxes, CRA audits)
· Reporting to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) related to FATCA & CRS requirements.
· Coordinate with the external auditors for annual audit of financial statements including managing communications and requirements with various stakeholders.
· Preparing and submit various regulatory reports to Office of Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), Statistics Canada and Bank of Canada (BoC)
· Manage reporting to Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) to ensure compliance with the CDIC Act
· Responsible for submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to the Parent Bank
· Responsible for reporting requirements under OSFI Liquidity Adequacy Requirements (LAR) and Capital Adequacy Requirements (CAR) guidelines to always ensure compliance.
· Manage reporting obligations under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
· Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures and provide guidance to ensure consistency across the bank
· Ensuring compliance with internal and external risk and compliance guidelines and obtain satisfactory rating in various review/audits.
· Manage staff in the finance department and assist them, as needed in their daily tasks.
· Assist CFO in various projects & special reporting requirements assigned from time to time
Qualifications and skill set:
Education: Graduate in the stream of Finance, with CPA or equivalent designation with advanced MS Excel skills.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance department in a Canadian bank
