Take the next step in your career as a General Psychiatrist within Saskatchewan’s dedicated Mental Health Team. Provide critical inpatient and outpatient services alongside a progressive multidisciplinary team, with emergency after-hours call on a 1-in-7 rotation.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality psychiatric care at the Battlefords Mental Health Centre, which features 22 acute inpatient beds. You’ll typically oversee the care of 5 to 6 patients, dedicating afternoons to outpatient follow-ups. Your expertise in adult psychiatry will enhance the quality of community mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services
- Manage emergency calls in a 1-in-7 rotation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for optimal patient care
- Conduct outpatient sessions and follow-ups effectively
- Monitor the treatment progress of adult patients
Requirements
- Certification from RCPSC or related eligibility
- Must be licensed in Saskatchewan
- Experience in generalist or forensic psychiatry
- Valid driver’s license and three references
- Familiarity with Saskatchewan’s mental health legislation an asset
