Senior User Experience (UX) Designer
Saskatchewan Government InsuranceJob Description
Work should be so much more than just a job you do to earn a paycheque. And at SGI, it is.
We offer the essentials – a competitive salary, great pension, and excellent employer-paid family benefits. But we also provide opportunities. The opportunity to do work that makes a difference in your community. The opportunity to expand your professional skills and grow your career. And the opportunity to come to work every day to a job you’re passionate about and that leaves you feeling happy and fulfilled.
Now that we’ve (hopefully!) sparked your interest, here’s some good news: we’re hiring!
We’re looking for a Risk Evaluator to join our team—someone who’s curious, detail‑driven, and enjoys working both independently and alongside others to assess risk, protect assets, and support strong decision‑making.
We hope you consider applying if you:
- Have solid knowledge of building evaluation methods, including residential valuation and replacement cost principles.
- Understand national fire and building codes and are comfortable interpreting building bylaws and requirements.
- Enjoy working directly with customers and partners, bringing strong customer service and interpersonal skills to every interaction.
- Have a keen eye for detail and take pride in getting things right—while also knowing how to manage your time and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Are a self‑starter who’s comfortable working independently in the field, while also being a supportive team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and collaborating with others.
- Demonstrate leadership through continuous learning and development—whether that’s staying current on codes and construction practices, mentoring others, or contributing to team knowledge and training.
- Can balance technical expertise with practical decision‑making, ensuring evaluations are accurate, consistent, and well‑documented.
Typically, these skills are gained through a two-year diploma in a relevant Trades field of study (e.g., construction), a valid driver’s licence, and 3-5 years’ job-related experience in building construction, inspection or estimating. But we don’t want you to worry about checking every box! We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way, so please don't hesitate to apply. We'd love to hear from you!
