About the Role
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid, 4 days a week onsite)
Job Type: Contract
Note: All the Interviews will be In-person at client location in Mississauga, ON
Support Model
- The team would work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with on-call support after hours until 8 PM on weekdays and 8 AM – 8 PM on weekends
Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 support for our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment, focusing on operational support and optimizing its health and performance.
- Oversee the management and security of our GKE containerized applications, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to best practices for container deployments.
- Monitor the performance and availability of GCP at a platform level, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
- Provide 24/7 on‑call support for GCP Public Cloud Operations.
- Support development to production GCP Cloud Containers/PaaS/IaaS etc., ensuring quality, performance, and availability of Public Cloud services.
- Learn new technologies and processes, resolve incidents, and solve problems by collaborating with others.
- Provide operational support for platforms and infrastructure hosted on TD's GCP Public Cloud.
- Follow ITIL processes (change, incident, and problem management) and be available for off‑hours escalated support.
- Manage non‑standard/complex incidents (P1, P2, P3, P4) and service requests.
- Conduct root cause analysis on repeatable incidents to help prevent future issues.
Professional Certifications
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
- Certified Terraform Associate
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong to expert knowledge of supporting GCP, including GKE workloads.
- 3+ years of experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, GKE, AKS, Docker, Podman.
- Familiarity with Cloud PaaS services such as Google Cloud Run, GKE Autopilot, Anthos Service Mesh.
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, encryption protocols and identity management concepts.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes resource types (cluster roles, services, deployments, etc.).
- Experience developing Helm Charts.
- Experience implementing Kubernetes technologies such as network policies, service mesh, certificate manager, ingress controllers.
- Experience developing compliance policies/scripts using tools such as Google Org Policy, Aquasec, Wiz.
- Experience supporting GCP services such as GKE, BigQuery, Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), REDIS, Cassandra, BigTable, Cloud Filestore, Persistent Storage, Apigee, Kafka, Dataflow, GCS.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog.
- Experience supporting an Azure Public Cloud environment is valuable.
- Knowledge of OS technologies (RedHat Linux, Windows).
- DevOps and Agile understanding.
- Working knowledge of LAN and WAN.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash).
- Comfortable with Agile methodology.
