Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic

The Heavy Duty Mechanic will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and/or electrical aspects of surface mining equipment and components according to defined specifications. Responsibilities also include commissioning new equipment, providing training at customer sites, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Benefits Company vehicle with gas card provided upon hire Ample opportunity for overtime paid as per provincial standards Tool reimbursement program Comprehensive compensation package including a pension plan with matching, competitive health, dental, life and disability benefits Paid training and development opportunities Support from an experienced network of technicians across the globe What You Will Be Doing Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions Adjust equipment and replace defective parts, components or systems according to the scope of work Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance Commission new equipment Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports and parts lists Stay current with industry, customers, product developments and technical best practices Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager Environmental, Health and Safety Comply with Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology safety policies and applicable regulations Identify and report unsafe work habits, incidents or near misses; perform risk assessments prior to each task Maintain hand tools and equipment for safe operation Maintain orderly work area and meet housekeeping requirements Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related training Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task What You Will Bring Along Red Seal certification At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment (asset) Two years mechanical experience on drills (asset) Previous experience with Sandvik equipment (asset) Excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment Strong written and verbal communication skills Computer literacy (MS Office) Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Canada as required Ability and willingness to work varied shifts Must be legally eligible to work in Canada In Return for Your Passion and Drive, We Will Offer You The opportunity to make an impact on our business performance Be part of an ambitious team in an industry‑leading business Reach your full potential Ongoing development and training Excellent comprehensive compensation package including pension, health, dental, life and disability benefits Our Culture
