About The Role
We are looking for an Associate Desktop Administrator (Fresher) to provide reliable end-user support and assist in managing desktop infrastructure, user accounts, endpoint security, and IT assets. This role focuses on supporting Windows and macOS systems, ensuring security compliance, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with network and server teams to resolve issues efficiently. It is an ideal entry-level role for candidates starting their careers in IT operations and support.
Key Responsibilities
End-User Support
- Provide L1/L2 technical support to end users for desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, OS, email, VPN, and connectivity issues
- Support users both onsite and remotely through ticketing systems
- Escalate unresolved issues to system, network, or application teams
Hardware & Software Management
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade:
- Desktop and laptop systems
- Operating Systems (Windows / macOS)
- Standard enterprise applications
- Peripheral devices (printers, scanners, monitors, headsets, etc.)
- Perform OS imaging, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements and warranty support
User Account & Access Management
- Create, modify, and disable user accounts during onboarding/offboarding
- Manage permissions, group memberships, and access rights
- Assist with Active Directory / Azure AD user administration
- Ensure access follows company security policies
Security & Compliance
- Install and monitor antivirus / endpoint protection software
- Apply OS and application updates and security patches
- Monitor endpoint security posture and report suspicious activity
- Ensure compliance with IT security and data protection policies
- Assist with data backup and recovery for end-user systems
System Maintenance & Reliability
- Perform preventive maintenance on desktops and laptops
- Monitor system performance and disk utilization
- Assist in endpoint-level disaster recovery preparedness
- Support recovery activities during system failures
Physical Networking & Infrastructure Support
- Assist with basic physical networking tasks:
- LAN cabling and patch panel connections
- Desk and workstation network setup
- Support UPS maintenance, power checks, and basic hardware diagnostics
- Coordinate with network teams for connectivity issues
Documentation
- Create and update:
- Technical guides
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- System configuration records
- User onboarding/offboarding checklists
- Maintain IT asset and inventory records
Collaboration & Projects
- Work closely with network, system, and security teams on complex issues
- Support IT initiatives such as rollouts, upgrades, and migrations
- Participate in project implementations as a support engineer
End-User Training & Awareness
- Guide and train users on:
- New tools and applications
- IT best practices
- Security awareness and safe computing practices
- Provide clear, user-friendly instructions and support
Qualifications And Skills
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of Windows OS (10/11) and macOS
- Understanding of desktop hardware components
- Familiarity with Active Directory / user access concepts
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi)
- Awareness of endpoint security principles
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and customer-service mindset
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Patience and ability to explain technical issues simply
- Willingness to learn and grow in IT operations
- Ability to work well within a team
Education & Certifications (Preferred)
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science
- Entry-level certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals, ITIL Foundation – a plus)
