Account Solution Engineer Non-Profit
SalesforceJob Description
## About This Role
We're Salesforce, the #1 AI CRM, and we're looking for an exceptional Account Solution Engineer to join our Salesforce for Nonprofits team. As a Solution Engineer in this role, you'll work at the intersection of technology and mission-driven impact, helping nonprofit organizations discover how Salesforce's world-class CRM and technology platform can transform their operations and accelerate their impact.
This position is based in Washington D.C. and remote-eligible, offering flexibility while you drive innovation in the nonprofit sector. You'll bring intellectual curiosity, strong problem-solving abilities, and a genuine belief that the right technology can address complex challenges—including some of the world's toughest problems.
## What You'll Do Every Day
Your typical day involves discovering and analyzing individual customer goals and challenges, then mapping those to the Salesforce solution portfolio. You'll earn the 'technical win' by delivering functionally compelling and relevant customer presentations, complete with engaging demonstrations. Beyond presentations, you'll respond strategically to RFXs and proactively research technical points of view aligned with industry knowledge and deep understanding of your customer organization's vision and mission.
Designing innovative solutions is core to this work. You'll build these solutions on the Salesforce platform and present customized, story-driven demonstrations that emphasize key business value and solution differentiation. Relationship-building matters enormously—you'll establish and maintain strong connections with your sales team and primary contacts at your aligned accounts, ensuring alignment on goals and challenges.
You'll also bridge the gap between customers and our product teams, providing valuable feedback to product management and engineering about new customer requirements and potential improvements. Staying current in your field is essential, so you'll participate in ongoing training and certifications to maintain the technical knowledge necessary to excel.
Domestic travel up to 30% is required for this role.
## What We're Looking For
You'll bring 7+ years of professional work experience, ideally in the nonprofit sector or software industry. You're comfortable working in fast-paced, agile environments and have previous sales experience. Prior Salesforce Admin experience is preferred but not required.
What sets you apart is your genuine affinity with the nonprofit sector and mission-driven organizations. You're proficient at leading discussions with organizational leaders and individual contributors alike, helping them articulate their business goals and strategies. You understand how technology—especially Salesforce—can deliver real value and measurable impact in helping organizations achieve their goals and solve critical issues.
Your communication skills are exceptional. You have solid verbal, written, and presentation abilities, with strong interpersonal skills that allow you to connect authentically with diverse stakeholders. You're proven in managing time and prioritizing effectively in dynamic, fast-moving sales environments. You can take complex technology and explain it in simple, easy-to-understand ways that resonate with nonprofit leaders and staff.
You're comfortable working as part of a team to solve both business and technical problems, bringing collaborative energy and strong leadership presence to discussions and demonstrations.
## Technical Background
You should have technical expertise in any of these areas: CRM, AI, Analytics, Business Intelligence, Digital Marketing, or Community Engagement. Experience with enterprise software selling in the NGO space is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate has a background in nonprofit management and operational roles and/or deep familiarity with Salesforce technology. The ability to create and deliver compelling, customer-facing software demonstrations is valuable. Salesforce Admin 201 and Nonprofit Cloud Consultant certifications are desired qualifications.
