About the Role
We are expanding our project delivery capabilities at SAFAA Group of Companies and are looking to onboard an experienced Senior Project Manager for a key leadership role within our Construction function. This position will oversee construction projects from planning through completion, with a strong focus on cost control, budgeting, and financial performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within approved budgets. The role will also be responsible for establishing systems, processes, and governance frameworks across projects, while leading project managers, site engineers, and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead end-to-end project management for construction projects from initiation to completion
- Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Costing & Budgeting (Core Focus)
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and overheads
- Develop and manage project budgets aligned with contract values
- Monitor actual costs vs. budget and perform variance analysis
- Implement effective cost-control measures to prevent overruns
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis for new and ongoing projects
Procurement & Contract Management
- Oversee vendor selection, negotiations, and procurement processes
- Review BOQs, tenders, and subcontractor quotations
- Manage contracts, change orders, and claims
- Ensure proper documentation, billing milestones, and contractual compliance
Financial Monitoring & Reporting
- Track overall project financial performance and cash flow
- Prepare periodic financial and cost reports for management
- Forecast project costs and revenue projections
- Support billing, invoicing, and collections processes
Team Leadership & Governance
- Lead and manage project managers, site engineers, and support teams
- Establish and implement standard systems, procedures, and governance frameworks across projects
- Ensure structured communication and coordination across departments
- Conduct regular project review meetings and performance tracking
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5–10+ years of experience in construction project management
- Strong expertise in costing, budgeting, and financial control
- Experience managing mid-to-large scale construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and execution practices
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera)
- Excellent analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
- Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or related field
- PMP or equivalent certification (preferred)
