Job Description

Our client is a national healthcare company. They are looking for a Sr. Data Scientist with strong Python expertise to develop labour forecasting models for clinician workforce planning.

This engagement will focus on leveraging internal HR and scheduling data to build predictive models that help forecast staffing needs and improve scheduling visibility for clinicians.

Location: North York (1-2 days/week onsite)

Duration: 3 months

Responsibilities

  • Analyze internal workforce and scheduling datasets to identify drivers of clinician staffing demand
  • Design and develop labour forecasting models to predict workforce requirements through the end of the year
  • Build three forecasting models aligned to different clinician resourcing types
  • Develop an initial prototype model and support its transition into production
  • Work with sensitive HR data sourced from ADP and internal scheduling platforms
  • Build models using Python, working within a SQL-based analytics environment
  • Collaborate with internal workforce planning and analytics teams to translate business requirements into predictive models
  • Integrate models within the organization's Microsoft Fabric data environment

Must Have Skills:

  • Strong experience building predictive or forecasting models using Python
  • Experience analyzing and modeling large operational or workforce datasets
  • Proven ability to develop data science prototypes and move them toward production
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience building workforce or labour forecasting models
