Role Description

We are seeking a full-time on-site Veterinarian Surgeon to join our team in Maharashtra, India. The role involves performing animal sterilizations as part of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) program, providing surgical treatments, conducting routine health assessments, and offering emergency medical aid. The Veterinarian Surgeon will also participate in vaccination drives, train junior staff and volunteers, and contribute to advancing the foundation's mission to improve animal welfare.

Qualifications

• Veterinary surgical skills, including sterilization and emergency procedures
• Proficiency in diagnosing and treating animal health conditions
• Experience in vaccination programs, particularly anti-rabies initiatives
• Ability to train and mentor junior staff and volunteers
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of animal welfare practices and legal principles related to animal care
• Organizational skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively
• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science (BVSc) or an equivalent qualification; valid veterinary license required
• Willingness to work on-site in Maharashtra, India
• Prior experience in non-profit or animal welfare organizations is an advantage
