Social Media - Reporter / Journalist

Core Responsibilities

• News Gathering: Researching, reporting, and investigating news stories to keep the public informed.
• Content Production: Writing, editing, and submitting articles, video scripts, or audio recordings for publication or broadcast.
• Interviewing: Conducting interviews with witnesses, experts, or key figures to gather information.
• Verification: Fact-checking information and adhering to ethical standards to maintain accuracy.
• Multimedia Integration: Taking photos, recording video, and using social media to complement stories.
• Networking: Building and maintaining a network of contacts to source stories.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Communication: Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Digital Literacy: Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), social media platforms, and media production software.
• Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze information, stay objective, and identify newsworthy stories.
• Deadline Management: Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
