Buyer Consultant (Procurement & Contract Management)

We are seeking a Buyer Consultant to support procurement and contract management activities across a portfolio of sourcing initiatives. This is a 12-month contract position based onsite in New York, NY, working five days per week. In this role, you will execute sourcing strategies, manage RFP processes, and oversee contracts through their full lifecycle while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive value, efficiency, and compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute sourcing strategies using RFP and other go-to-market approaches for assigned categories
  • Review and process procurement requisitions, managing multiple initiatives of varying complexity
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope of work and validate business requirements
  • Lead cross-functional meetings with project managers, legal, finance, and other teams
  • Develop award recommendations and supporting documentation for procurement decisions
  • Draft and manage RFP documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Negotiate contracts in partnership with legal and internal stakeholders
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle including execution, change management, and closeout
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure delivery, pricing accuracy, and compliance
  • Resolve procurement issues including PO discrepancies, pricing variances, and exceptions
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate spend and drive cost savings
  • Support supplier relationship management and performance tracking

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or contract management
  • Experience with RFP processes, contract negotiations, and contract administration
  • Understanding of procure-to-pay processes, policies, and risk considerations
  • Experience working with ERP purchasing systems or procurement platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments with minimal guidance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
