L3 Support Engineer

Role: RegOps L3 Support Engineer

Location: Remote Canada

Duration: Long term Project

Overview

This role provides L3 support for trading and regulatory applications within a banking environment. You will work closely with trading, compliance, risk, and IT teams to operate, troubleshoot, and enhance existing trading systems.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong Linux experience (command line, file operations, shell scripting).
• Hands‑on L3 production support in a financial services or banking environment.
• Working SQL knowledge for querying and analyzing data.

Preferred skills:

• Scripting skills

(Python or shell) for automation and operational tasks.

• Experience with job schedulers (cron, Autosys, Control‑M, etc.).
• Familiarity with release and deployment tools (Rundeck, Ansible).
• Good communication and incident management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide L3 support for trading and market data applications during NY hours.
• Troubleshoot production issues, including trading workflow and market data incidents.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑deployment checks.
• Integrate applications with automation, deployment, and monitoring tools.
• Document runbooks, operational procedures, and remediation plans.
• Support server provisioning and configuration (access, service accounts).
• Drive problem resolution and recommend stability improvements.

Preferred Qualities:

• Prior banking or trading systems experience.
• Strong ownership, ability to multitask, and willingness to shift priorities.
• Comfortable with cross‑training and collaborating with global teams.
• Hybrid work setup at NY/NJ.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
