We are looking for a like-minded individual with operator experience to join our team. This position requires someone who can work in a fast pace environment while maintaining safety standards and has a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
Being a part of the Aggregates Operator team at Rice Group means ensuring that all activities on site are executed in a safe, productive, and well-maintained manner.
An operator would be performing various tasks in equipment operation, maintenance, screening, crushing, and site maintenance.
Based on scheduling and availability of work, the Operator may be assigned to other Rice Group sites. Long days and occasional work on weekends may be required.
Other responsibilities may include
- Maintaining operational efficiency to minimize downtime and maximize productivity,
- Ensuring that daily checklists are performed by personnel, logged, and reported to the Operations Supervisor,
- Monitoring crushing systems, screening systems and heavy equipment for proper function (belts, blow bars, drums, power, etc.),
- Operating various heavy equipment, screening plants and crushing plants,
- Ensuring the crushing system is loaded with properly sized material avoiding any material that can potentially damage the equipment (ie: steel, oversize concrete, etc.),
- Demonstrating behaviours consistent with health & safety policies and legislation,
- Professionally working with fellow employees, supervisors, and clients in a courteous and respectful manner,
- Working in all variations of weather.
Skills Required:
Successful candidates will have the following skills:
- Heavy equipment experience and/or aggregates manufacturing 3 years,
- Aggregates experience,
- Crushing experience is an asset,
- Strong knowledge of aggregate materials,
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the role (heavy lifitng, bending, climbing etc.),
- Strong problem solving skills,
- Strong communication skills,
- Ability to work long and flexible hours, occasional weekends,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team,
- A good safety record and the highest degree of dependability,
- Must speak fluent English.
