About the Opportunity
Relate Search has partnered with a rapidly growing, private equity-backed manufacturing organization seeking a hands-on
HR Manager
to lead the people function at one of its key plant locations.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys building while doing. The organization has experienced significant growth, expanding from a founder-led business into a ~$30M operation and is on track to triple in size over the next 2–3 years through organic growth.

The Role
This is the lead HR presence onsite, supporting a non-union manufacturing workforce of ~140 employees (and growing), including both hourly and salaried populations.
You’ll act as a true generalist and strategic partner, working closely with the GM and leadership team to build and strengthen the local HR function while supporting day-to-day operations.
Key areas of focus include:
- Driving employee relations and serving as a trusted advisor to managers and employees
- Leading onboarding, attendance management, and foundational HR processes
- Supporting high-volume hiring in partnership with the TA team
- Helping shape and reinforce a strong, positive site culture
- Assisting with the integration of an additional nearby facility into the Fredericksburg operation
- Building scalable HR practices to support continued growth
What You’ll Bring
- 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or a similar environment
- Strong generalist background with deep employee relations experience
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building processes from the ground up
- A proactive, high-energy approach with a strong sense of urgency
- Business acumen and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to influence and partner effectively with plant leadership
- Experience supporting hourly populations in a fast-paced setting
