Job Description

The TSC Engineer the first stop in our tech “box office,” delivering remote support to theaters and Cinema Systems Engineers to keep the show running. Think of this role as the backstage crew for digital projection, sound, networking, and all the components that make movie magic happen. This entry‑level role is perfect for someone ready to learn the art of digital picture and sound, sharpen their troubleshooting skills, and communicate like a pro. When something goes off‑script, this engineer jumps in to diagnose the issue, keep the plot moving, and ensure every audience gets the flawless experience they paid for. Lights, camera, technical action!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Receive calls and provide step-by-step guidelines for the resolution of a projection and sound related issue.
  • Document and track issues to meet SLA requirements and escalate, if necessary, work with advanced level TSC engineers to analyze problems, perform troubleshooting and incident response, while learning to communicate professionally with theatre managers and field service engineers and track problems through to resolution.
  • Explain highly technical details to theatre managers using simple understandable terms.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of digital cinema equipment.
  • Place parts orders as requested by field techs and directors.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work environment.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.

About you:

  • You must have a high technical aptitude.
  • You’ll use strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • You must have an entry‑level knowledge of digital cinema systems and computer network infrastructure.
  • You’ll demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • You must bring high mechanical and technical abilities.
  • You’ll apply entry‑level PC skills and a working knowledge of software, including spreadsheets.
  • You identify problems, gather relevant data, and note possible causes and solutions.
  • You’ll agree to participate in company‑sponsored continuing education, including industry seminars and college‑level courses.
  • You must be able to communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and vendors.
  • You’ll gain familiarity with technical terms related to the job.
  • You have the ability to learn how to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists.
  • You’ll interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Linux Systems is highly desirable.
