<p><span class="s20" style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Position Summary</strong>:</span></p>
<p class="s22"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21">Redwood Materials is currently searching for a Service Engineer to join as an early member of a new engineering team working on our Battery Energy Storage System product line. You will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues across deployed Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role supports an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) organization that performs routine monitoring, preventive maintenance, and first-line troubleshooting. Service Engineering serves as the technical escalation path for O&M, owning deep diagnostics, system-level failure analysis, and engineering-driven corrective actions.</span><span class="s21"> </span></span></p>
<p class="s22"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21">The Service Engineer ensures safe, reliable, and high-performing asset operation by bridging field operations and engineering, translating operational issues into engineering solutions, and feeding field learnings back into product and system design. This role has the potential of growing into leadership as the team grows. </span><span class="s21"> </span></span></p>

<p class="s22"><span class="s21" style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong><br></span></p>
<ul>
<li class="s22" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21" style="font-size: 12pt;">Act as the primary technical escalation point for the O&M organization for issues beyond standard operating procedures </span></li>
<li class="s22" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21" style="font-size: 12pt;">Define clear handoff criteria, escalation thresholds, and response expectations between O&M and Service Engineering </span></li>
<li class="s22" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21" style="font-size: 12pt;">Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Service Engineers providing tier-2 and tier-3 technical support </span></li>
<li class="s22" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21" style="font-size: 12pt;">Own investigation and resolution of complex electrical, controls, software, thermal, and system-integration issues </span></li>
<li class="s22" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21" style="font-size: 12pt;">Translate field and O&M feedback into actionable requirements for Product, Systems, and R&D Engineering teams </span></li>
<li class="s22" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21" style="font-size: 12pt;">Drive improvements in system serviceability, reliability, and maintainability through design and process changes </span></li>
<li class="s22" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21" style="font-size: 12pt;">Own advanced service documentation including troubleshooting guides, decision trees, and service bulletins </span></li>
<li class="s22" style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21" style="font-size: 12pt;">Develop technical training materials and support O&M team upskilling on new systems, upgrades, and known issues</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="s22"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s26"><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong>: </span><span class="s27"> </span></span></p>

<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span class="s21">Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering</span><span class="s21">, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline</span> </span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">7+ years of experience supporting complex electromechanical or power electronics systems (BESS, renewable energy, industrial systems) </span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Deep understanding of BESS system architecture, including batteries, PCS/inverters, EMS, thermal management, and protection systems </span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Proven experience operating in a tiered support model (O&M → Service Engineering → Product Engineering) </span></li>
