Founded in 2017,</strong><strong>&nbsp;we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.</strong></p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div></div><p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Senior Mechanical Engineer</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Redwood Materials is seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Mechanical Engineer to support pilot projects and commercial scale production operations. This engineer will be responsible for leading continuous improvement projects across multiple manufacturing lines. This Senior Mechanical Engineer will fall underneath Redwood's Plant Design and Commissioning group supporting our hydrometallurgy refining plants and related operations.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Responsibilities will include:</strong>&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Lead the specification, procurement, and implementation of capital equipment</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Design tooling and fixtures</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Review and provide input on new process/equipment designs</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Partner with mechanical development team to transition newly developed processes and equipment into manufacturing</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Create and own process work instructions and standard operating procedures</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Train manufacturing personnel on new processes and equipment</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Analyze process data and metrics and drive improvements on safety, quality, and cost</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Trouble-shoot and solve process and equipment issues</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Identify and execute continuous improvement projects</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Desired Qualifications:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">5 - 7 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong mechanical aptitude, including understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong organizational and project management skills; previous project management experience preferred</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prior experience leading capital acquisition processes</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with industrial scale processes and equipment, including automation</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detailed-oriented with an analytical and structured approach to problem solving</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with statistical data collection, analysis, and reporting</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with structured capital process, including process/equipment validation</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Technical writing experience</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Highly proficient with Microsoft Office software</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Modeling 3D CAD experience preferred</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Must be able to communicate clearly</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Split work environment between office and the production facility</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Work may involve extended periods of working in the production facility</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">May require occasional work weekends or alternate shifts to support production needs</span></li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The position is full-time.
