About The Role

Redhorse is transforming how the Department of Defense (DoD) utilizes data and technology. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior-Level Data Scientist to join our team supporting the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). You will play a critical role in advancing data-driven decision-making across the DoD, designing and implementing robust data solutions that directly impact national security initiatives and investments. This is a high-impact position offering significant opportunity to shape the future of DoD data management and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Support acquisition missions by extracting insights from structured and unstructured datasets
• Build predictive and prescriptive models to inform decision-makers and commanders
• Translate analytic outputs into clear, mission-relevant recommendations
• Develop machine learning, statistical, and optimization models
• Conduct feature engineering, validation, and performance tuning
• Clean, normalize, and integrate data from multiple classified and unclassified sources
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards aligned with DoD data strategies
• Understand how enterprise-level efforts align with the DoW Data Strategy

Required Experience/Clearance

• Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree plus 5+ years of experience
• Experience with big data systems, including Apache Spark and Databricks
• Experience with ETL processes
• Experience with the Advana Data Environment
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or MilCloud 2.0
• Experience engineering data pipelines across multiple security domains/classified networks
• Experience with multiple coding languages
• Active Secret security clearance
