Your Opportunity:
Recovery Alberta is seeking a Mental Health Therapist (MHT) to join the Wood Buffalo Addiction & Mental Health Services (WAMHS) team in Fort McMurray. We’re seeking a dynamic individual to work with clients of all ages in both one-on-one and group settings. Your superior communication skills will be essential as you deliver psychosocial interventions using a variety of treatment modalities—including individual, family, and group therapy—for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You’ll work both independently and as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, providing evidence-informed care through crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment. We are looking for an individual who believes in delivering the highest standard of patient- and family-centered care in a community context. Fort McMurray (within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo) is a thriving community with lively social, arts, recreational and cultural opportunities. Located in the heart of Canada's boreal forest with lakes and rivers nearby, along with four provincial parks in the area, it offers a stunning landscape. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Recovery Alberta currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A valid Class V driver’s licence and willingness to travel to rural communities Availability to work evenings as required. Restricted Psychosocial Interventions (RAPI).
