Job Title : L2 System Administrator
Experience: 3–5 Years
Employment Type: Contract
We are looking for a skilled and proactive L2 System Administrator to support and maintain infrastructure operations in a hosted Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Citrix, Azure, VMware, and Microsoft 365, and will play a critical role in ensuring system stability, performance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Act as L2 escalation support for infrastructure-related issues from L1 teams
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, Citrix Cloud, Director, and StoreFront
- Manage and support Azure infrastructure, including VM operations and basic optimization
- Administer Windows Server environments (2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022)
- Support VMware vSphere and ESXi, including VM provisioning and troubleshooting
- Manage backup monitoring and restores using Veeam Backup & Replication
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, and NTFS permissions
- Support Microsoft 365 / Office 365 and Exchange Online user and mailbox operations
- Assist with endpoint security tools such as SentinelOne and Bitdefender
- Perform patch management, routine maintenance, and OS upgrades
- Investigate incidents, perform basic root cause analysis, and escalate to L3 when required
- Support MFA solutions (DUO) and anti-spam tools such as SpamExperts
- Handle incidents and service requests using ticketing and monitoring tools
- Maintain accurate documentation for incidents, changes, and SOPs
- Collaborate with L3 engineers on infrastructure improvements and upgrades
Required Skills
- Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop, Citrix Cloud, Director, StoreFront
- Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022
- Microsoft Azure (VMs, networking basics, resource management)
- VMware ESXi & vSphere (VM operations, snapshots, troubleshooting)
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365, Exchange Online
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
- Veeam Backup & Replication (monitoring and restores)
- Endpoint Security: SentinelOne, Bitdefender
- Ticketing tools: Halo PSA or equivalent
- Monitoring tools: NinjaRMM or similar
- DUO MFA, anti-spam solutions (SpamExperts)
- Basic SQL Server support
- Print server and network printer support
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in L2 System Administration / Infrastructure Support
- Experience working in an MSP or hosted services environment
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or AZ-104 (preferred)
- Citrix or VMware certifications (nice to have)
- ITIL v4 Foundation (advantage)
