Position Summary
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-focused Hotel Front Desk Agent to join our team. This position is responsible for welcoming guests, handling check-ins and check-outs, answering questions, managing reservations, and helping ensure each guest has a positive experience from arrival through departure.
The Hotel Front Desk Agent, also commonly known as a Guest Service Representative, is one of the most important guest-facing positions in the hotel. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems, staying organized, and being part of a hospitality team that values professionalism, teamwork, and excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a warm, professional, and welcoming manner
- Check guests in and out accurately and efficiently
- Handle reservations, room assignments, payments, and guest account transactions
- Answer phone calls, respond to guest questions, and provide hotel and local area information
- Assist guests with requests, concerns, complaints, and service recovery in a professional manner
- Communicate with housekeeping, maintenance, and hotel leadership to help resolve guest needs
- Monitor arrivals, departures, room status, and front desk activity throughout the shift
- Follow hotel procedures for cash handling, credit cards, guest privacy, and security
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area
- Support guest satisfaction, brand standards, and daily hotel operations
- Complete shift reports, logs, and other front desk documentation as required
- Help create a positive first and last impression for every guest
Qualifications
Required
- Previous customer service, front desk, administrative, hospitality, retail, or related experience preferred
- Friendly and professional communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized
- Ability to handle guest concerns calmly and professionally
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays as needed
Preferred
- Previous hotel front desk or guest service experience
- Experience with Wyndham, Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or other branded hotel standards
- Experience using hotel property management systems
- Cash handling and credit card transaction experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus
- Ability to work morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts based on business needs
