Description
We’re hiring a
Lead C/C++ Cryptography Engineer
to join a high-impact engineering team building a
security-critical cryptographic platform
used by global enterprises across banking, retail, and healthcare.
This role sits at the intersection of
low-level systems programming, applied cryptography, and mainframe engineering
, with a strong focus on
IBM z/OS environments
.
You will play a key role in evolving a
cross-platform encryption engine
deployed across Linux, Windows, macOS, AIX, and z/OS.
What You’ll Own
🔹 Technical Leadership
- Drive architecture, design reviews, and coding standards
- Own cross-platform build strategy (CMake, CI/CD pipelines, release engineering)
- Lead security best practices: static analysis, dependency scanning, vulnerability management
- Act as escalation point for complex customer issues (crypto, TLS, HSM integration)
🔹 Hands-on Engineering
- Develop and optimize
cryptographic functionality in C/C++
- Work across encryption models: symmetric, asymmetric, key management, TLS
- Build and maintain SDK integrations (Java + native interop)
- Ensure stability of cross-platform compiled interfaces
🔹 z/OS & Mainframe Focus
- Work deeply within
IBM z/OS ecosystem
- Engage with customer system programmers on:
- Security frameworks (RACF / ACF2 / SAF)
- TLS configuration and debugging
- Production defect resolution
- Contribute to build & packaging using JCL and SMP/E
What “Strong” Looks Like
- Expert-level
C/C++ systems programming
across platforms
- Hands-on experience with
applied cryptography (TLS, encryption, key management)
- Deep familiarity with
mainframe environments (z/OS)
- Exposure to
HSM integrations (PKCS#11, Thales, nCipher, etc.)
- Strong debugging skills across OS-level and runtime issues
- Proven ability to work directly with enterprise customers
Bonus Experience
- Java / .NET interop
- Payment systems (PCI, EMV, ISO 8583)
- Post-quantum cryptography awareness
- Experience with build/release engineering at scale
