Job Title: Junior Data Engineer

Location: Washington DC (Hybrid)

Duration: 12-15 months (Possibilities of extension/conversion)

Overview

Quintrix is on the lookout for professionals who are open to upskill to the exciting world of Data Engineering. This opportunity is for our direct client in Banking/financial Services and includes a 4 week Instructor-led online pre-employment training program (15 hours per week), conveniently scheduled after business hours. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a $500 stipend. This is a fantastic chance to gain in demand skills, hands-on experience, and a pathway into a dynamic tech role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and scripts
• Write optimized SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
• Design and maintain database objects in MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server
• Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
• Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Deploy and monitor applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Document code, deployment processes, and technical configurations

Required Skills

• Strong foundation in Python programming (OOP concepts preferred)
• Good understanding of SQL (joins, indexing, subqueries, aggregations)
• Basic knowledge of relational database design
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts (build, test, deploy automation)
• Basic understanding of cloud computing fundamentals (compute, storage, networking)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn DevOps and cloud technologies
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• High attention to detail

Education

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Docker or containerization tools
• Basic knowledge of RESTful APIs
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts
• Exposure to cloud monitoring/logging tools
• Internship or academic project involving deployment automation

Selection Process:

• Online assessment and technical interview conducted by Quintrix
• Client interview(s)
• 4-week pre-employment online instructor-led training

Training Stipend:

• $500 paid during the training period
