Job Title: Senior Accountant (School)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the school’s financial operations with accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
The role requires strong expertise in school accounting, taxation, GST, and audits, along with the ability to maintain strict financial discipline and reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities Accounts & Financial Management
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations of the school
- Maintain accurate books of accounts (ledger, journal entries, cash flow)
- Monitor fee collection, reconciliation, and outstanding dues
- Ensure proper accounting of expenses, salaries, and vendor payments
- GST & Taxation Compliance
- Handle GST filing, returns, and compliance as per regulations
- Ensure proper classification of taxable/non-taxable school transactions
- Manage TDS deductions, filings, and returns
- Stay updated with latest tax laws and ensure compliance
Reporting & Audit
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Assist in internal and external audits
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and financial records
- Identify discrepancies and ensure corrective actions
School Fee & Reconciliation System
- Reconcile fee records with accounts department regularly
- Monitor discrepancies in fee receipts and collections
- Ensure zero tolerance for financial mismatch or fraud
- Maintain proper documentation of student fee records
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with management, auditors, and banks
- Ensure compliance with school financial policies and statutory requirements
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning
Skills & Requirements
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian taxation laws
- Experience in school accounting or education sector (preferred)
- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally/ERP) and MS Excel
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity
Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com (Mandatory)
- CA Inter / CA (Preferred)
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience
