We are seeking a high-caliber 10+ Years Experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer cum Industrial Designer specialized in Mechanical Packaging of Aircraft's Electronics parts to join our Aerospace Engineering team based in Indore \ Bengalore. This role is critical in bridging the gap between sophisticated electronic systems and the harsh physical realities of flight. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design, integration, and thermal management of avionics suites, sensors, and power distribution units within the aircraft structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Packaging Design: Lead the design and development of ruggedized enclosures for flight-critical electronics (LRUs - Line Replaceable Units), ensuring optimal space utilization and ease of maintenance.
- Thermal Management: Perform advanced thermal analysis to ensure electronic components remain within safe operating temperatures during all flight phases (climb, cruise, and high-altitude soak).
- Structural Integrity: Design mounting structures and chassis that can withstand extreme aerospace environments, including high-frequency vibration, mechanical shock, and G-loading.
- Environmental Protection: Implement sealing and shielding strategies to protect sensitive electronics from Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), High-Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF), moisture, and pressure changes.
- Materials Selection: Select aerospace-grade materials (e.g., aluminum alloys, composites, advanced polymers) based on weight-to-strength ratios, thermal conductivity, and outgassing properties.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with Electrical Engineers for PCB layout constraints and Systems Engineers for overall aircraft integration.
- Certification & Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with stringent aerospace standards such as DO-160G (Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment) and MIL-STD-810.
- Design of the mechanical aspects of all products from concept to production including certification artefacts
