We are currently seeking an Active Directory Engineer / Entra ID Engineer to join one of our clients, a major Corporate investment bank based in Montreal.

Role Overview

The Active Directory / Entra ID Engineer will join a global infrastructure and security team responsible for the design, administration, and evolution of enterprise identity and directory services within a large, international, and highly secure environment. The role focuses on maintaining the stability, security, and performance of Active Directory environments (on-premises and cloud), supporting critical infrastructure operations, and contributing to modernization and security initiatives related to identity services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Active Directory Administration: Manage and maintain enterprise Active Directory environments, including Domain Controllers, DNS, Group Policy Objects (GPO), ADFS, Sites & Services, and replication across multiple domains and forests.
  • Identity Platform Management: Support and administer Entra ID and identity synchronization solutions such as Azure AD Connect, ensuring reliable identity lifecycle and access management.
  • Security & Hardening: Contribute to the implementation of security best practices around identity services, including RBAC models, privileged access protection, tiering models, and identity governance principles.
  • Infrastructure Projects: Participate in infrastructure transformation initiatives such as directory consolidation, DNS redesign, identity security improvements, and integration of new applications or environments.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop PowerShell scripts and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks, improve operational efficiency, and support auditing or remediation activities.
  • Monitoring & Auditing: Support monitoring and auditing of directory services using security and logging tools, ensuring compliance with internal security policies.
  • Disaster Recovery & Resilience: Contribute to disaster recovery strategies and operational readiness for directory services, including testing and documentation of recovery procedures.
  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to governance practices around directory infrastructure and identity services.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience working with enterprise Active Directory environments and identity infrastructure.
  • Directory Services: Strong expertise in Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, Group Policy, ADFS, and directory architecture concepts.
  • Cloud Identity: Experience with Entra ID and identity synchronization technologies such as Azure AD Connect.
  • Automation: Advanced PowerShell scripting for administration, auditing, and automation tasks.
  • Security Concepts: Understanding of identity security principles such as RBAC, Zero Trust approaches, MFA, and privileged access management.
  • Identity & Infrastructure Tools: Experience with enterprise monitoring, security auditing, or directory assessment tools is considered an asset.

Working conditions

  • Candidate must be located or willing to relocate to Montreal
  • Hybrid 3 days on-site per week
  • Participating in on-call and support hours
