Description

Qatar Airways is recruiting for the role of Senior Accountant – Invoice to Pay (Quality Check) based at our Global Business Services (GBS) in Ahmedabad, India.

This position will be primarily responsible to perform quality checks, reconciliations, and compliance reviews within the Invoice to Pay (I2P) function to ensure accuracy, completeness, and control adherence in invoice and payment processing. This role is critical for maintaining financial integrity and supporting audit readiness across the Global Accounts Payable function.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic quality checks on processed invoices and payments to ensure compliance with internal policies, controls, and tax regulations (e.g., WHT, VAT, GST).
• Review supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and approval hierarchy compliance.
• Investigate and report recurring processing issues or control gaps and support implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure process documentation and SOPs reflect current practices and control checkpoints.
• Monitor and test internal controls related to I2P in line with internal control framework or internal audit standards.
• Perform vendor account reconciliations and follow up on open items, debit balances, and unallocated credits.
• Conduct GRIR (Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt) reconciliations and follow up with Procurement or Business teams for resolution.
• Validate and review blocked invoices and ensure timely clearing in coordination with the Operations team.
• Reconcile payment runs and bank postings against the Accounts Payable ledger to identify mismatches.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities including accruals and clearing of suspense items.
• Prepare audit schedules, respond to queries, and provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Assist with control testing and walkthroughs required by internal audit or compliance teams.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure consistent control evidence tracking.
• Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Master Data teams to resolve discrepancies and drive root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with the Tax and Compliance teams for validation of tax-sensitive transactions.
• Support process improvement initiatives related to control enhancement and reconciliation automation.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience
• ERP experience (Oracle, JDE, MS AX) with strong understanding of I2P data flows
• Hands-on experience in reconciliations, internal controls, and audit documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of audit/reconciliation tools is a plus
• Good communication skills
