IT Project Manager - Transportation Technologies

Role Overview

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is seeking a project management resource to lead and coordinate multiple IT initiatives of varying complexity within a structured PMO environment. This role supports transportation technologies with a strong emphasis on infrastructure-related projects, cross-functional stakeholder coordination, formal project planning, and full lifecycle delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong project governance skills along with experience supporting network and communications technology initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate multiple IT projects involving internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
• Develop and maintain project plans and required PM artifacts using established PMO standards, procedures, templates, and methodologies.
• Partner with business owners, analysts, and stakeholders to define and refine project scope.
• Lead projects through the full lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closeout.
• Facilitate lessons learned sessions and identify process improvement recommendations.
• Build productive working relationships with technology teams, business owners, sponsors, vendors, and key stakeholders.
• Adhere to the PTC PMO Playbook and referenced governance artifacts.
• Support additional project-related duties as assigned.

Required Technical Skills

• Advanced project management experience across projects of varying size and complexity.
• Advanced experience with integration, scope, schedule, cost, communication, vendor, and risk planning and management.
• Advanced experience managing infrastructure or connectivity-related technology initiatives.
• Advanced familiarity with long-haul fiber networks, facility/campus data networks, wireless connectivity, Wi-Fi networks, and unified communications technologies.
• Strong ability to work within a formal PMO framework and maintain project governance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP certification preferred.
• ServiceNow experience in Idea, Project, and Demand modules preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise business solutions, especially SAP-related projects, preferred.
• Familiarity with ITIL / ITSM practices and methodologies preferred.
• Prior experience in public sector, regulated environments, or transportation-related organizations preferred.
