Job Description
About Us & The Opportunity
Property Vista is a rapidly growing B2B SaaS company, building the future of AI-driven property management. We have built a powerful, robust engine, but we are officially declaring an end to "passive specs" and the "feature factory." We are shifting to a high-velocity, outcome-based model where we measure product success by the Hard ROI our platform delivers to our customers.
We are looking for a Lead UX Designer to partner directly with our VP of Product and our CTO. To start, you will be an Individual Contributor (IC)—the sole design authority in the company. To achieve outsized impact without a team of junior designers, you must be a forward-thinking strategist who heavily relies on AI assistance to accelerate your work.
We don't need someone to just draw screens; we need a systems-thinker who can take our massive, complex platform and make its value blatantly obvious to our users. We believe a professional UI should be so self-evident that a user never needs a manual, tooltip, or 'how-to' video. You will be tasked with overhauling our user journeys, reducing Time-to-Value, and designing world-class dashboards that prove financial outcomes to the Economic Buyer.
If you believe that clear data visualization, frictionless workflows, and AI-accelerated execution are the sexiest parts of software design, this is the role for you.
The Product Triad
We operate on a strict Triad model for product development:
- Product (VP of Product): Owns the "What and Why" (Commercial viability and Hard ROI).
- UX (You): Owns the "Flow and Usability" (Time-to-Value and adoption).
- Tech (CTO & Engineering Leads): Owns the "How and When" (Architecture and delivery).
What You Will Do (Your Key Responsibilities)
- Relentlessly Interrogate the "Why": You are the ultimate guardrail against building features for the sake of features. You are expected to ask hard questions, push back on assumptions, and ensure that the core objective of every initiative is deeply connected to our strategic goals. If the reason why the software was developed isn't glaringly obvious to the user, the design isn't done.
- Build the AI-Powered Design Stack: You will have the autonomy to select the design software and AI-native tools necessary to create high-fidelity mock-ups and interactive models. You are expected to continuously evaluate and integrate AI tools to accelerate your workflow.
- Solo Customer Testing & Synthesis: You won't have a dedicated UX research team. You will put your interactive models directly in front of customers to test them alone, relying on AI to rapidly synthesize Voice of Customer (VoC) feedback, generate realistic placeholder data, and iterate on the fly.
- Punch Above Your Weight Class: Leverage AI as your junior design team. From rapid wireframing to prototype app generation, you will use AI to drastically reduce the time between strategic concept and pristine engineering handoff.
- Open the "Invisible Drawer": We have incredibly powerful features that our customers don't know exist because they are buried. You will audit our core platform and redesign the information architecture so our most valuable tools are front and center.
- Design for the Economic Buyer: You will take the lead on designing executive dashboards, reporting modules, and "Value Realization" screens. You must know how to visually communicate ROI (leases signed, revenue gained, time saved) so the person paying the bill understands our value instantly.
- Radically Reduce Time-to-Value (TTV): Map and optimize the onboarding and daily workflows for our core personas (leasing agents, property managers). Remove friction, eliminate dead-ends, and ensure new users hit their first "aha!" moment faster than ever.
- Pristine Engineering Handoffs: We are a lean, fast-moving team of 14 developers. You will maintain a rigorous design system and deliver execution-ready assets. No throwing files over the wall—you will work alongside our devs to ensure designs are implemented effectively and meet all design goals.
What You Bring to the Table
- A Strong Backbone & Strategic Alignment: You refuse to be a passive order-taker. You are comfortable pushing back on Product when a feature's core objective is muddy, and you push back on Engineering when a technical shortcut obscures the intended outcome. You ensure every screen maps directly back to the company's "why."
- AI-Forward Mindset: You aren't afraid that AI will take your job; you use it to do the job of three people. You are highly proficient in leveraging modern AI design and research assistants to speed up your deliverables.
- Solo Execution Capability: You are comfortable operating as a high-level IC and strategist. You don't need a massive team of researchers and junior UI artists to ship incredible enterprise experiences.
- B2B SaaS Enterprise Experience: 5+ years of experience designing complex, data-heavy B2B software. You understand the difference between designing a consumer app and designing a tool people use for 8 hours a day to do their jobs.
- Systems Thinking: You think in user goals, components, states, and user journeys, not just static screens. You have experience building or scaling a robust Design System.
- A "Commercial" Design Lens: You understand that good UX drives Net Retention Rate (NRR) and reduces support tickets.
The UX Scorecard (How We Measure Your Success)
- Time-to-Value (TTV): Measurable reduction in the time/clicks it takes for a user to complete core workflows (e.g., executing a lease).
- Feature Adoption Rate: Increasing the active usage of historically underutilized modules by improving discoverability and flow.
- Support Ticket Deflection: Reducing UX/UI-related "how-to" tickets currently burdening our operations team.
- Design-to-Dev Velocity: Delivering functional code prototypes (lit / tailwind) using AI coding assistants like Stitch, Codex, etc. that increase our engineering pods' velocity and reduce front-end QA bugs.
Here's What You Need To Know About This Role
- Competitive base salary between $150,000 to $175,000 CAD with performance-based bonuses
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Full-time, salaried position
- Flexible and remote work environment
- Generous paid vacation time
- Employee stock options
