The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports recruitment activities across the organization, including staffing for emergency response operations and the engagement of volunteers and consultants.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition, this role works closely with hiring managers and HR colleagues to coordinate efficient hiring processes, maintain accurate recruitment data, and ensure positive candidate experience. The Specialist also supports time-sensitive hiring needs during emergency response efforts.
CORE RESPONSIBLITIES
Recruitment Coordination & Support
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate sourcing support, interview scheduling, and offer coordination.
- Partner with hiring managers to support recruitment efforts, including intake discussions and alignment of timelines and requirements.
- Track recruitment progress and maintain clear communication with hiring managers on candidate status.
- Ensure consistent use of recruitment processes and documentation.
Emergency Response Staffing
- Support recruitment for urgent emergency response needs, including volunteers and short-term consultants.
- Assist in maintaining pools of qualified candidates to support rapid response efforts.
- Coordinate with HR and emergency response teams to track staffing needs and candidate availability.
- Provide flexible support during surge hiring periods.
Candidate Experience & Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Coordinate interviews, feedback collection and ensure timely communication with candidates and hiring teams.
- Support positive and professional candidate experience.
ATS & Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Track candidate progress, documentation, and hiring outcomes.
- Generate basic recruitment reports as needed.
Compliance & Process Support
- Ensure recruitment activities are conducted in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready recruitment documentation.
- Support adherence to fair and consistent hiring practices.
- Assist with pre-employment and onboarding tasks, including documentation collection and system updates, to support smooth hiring transitions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR support roles.
- Experience supporting high-volume or time-sensitive recruitment.
- Hands-on experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and managing recruitment data.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience recruiting or coordinating volunteers, consultants, or project-based staff.
- Experience supporting recruitment in a nonprofit, global, or humanitarian context.
- Familiarity with compliance and documentation requirements related to consultants, volunteers, and international staffing.
- Experience supporting global or geographically dispersed teams.

- Travel for extended periods by air and other modes of transportation. Project HOPE employees work in the global health field and may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as “hardship”.

Salary range starting at $60,000 - 75,000 per year. Compensation for the role is dependent on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
