Synergy Solutions, Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of PFC Federal, is looking for candidates to fill the role of Business Intelligence Analyst for the US Army FUZE (SBIR/STTR) programs. This position is contingent on final contract award and successful transition of personal security clearance or the ability to acquire one.
Position Overview:
The Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a critical advisor and liaison within the U.S. Army FUZE program, ensuring the secure development, transition, and integration of innovative technologies. This role is responsible for leading and conducting advanced behavioral analysis techniques to evaluate potential security risks associated with emerging technologies and their developers, conduct risk assessments, OPSEC reviews, and due diligence investigations. The role involves analyzing threats, vulnerabilities, and risks that might affect the organization's operational effectiveness and strategic objectives. This position ensures that all processes align with the highest standards of security and integrity, providing key insights and recommendations to enhance protective measures across the organization. The role of the Business Intelligence Analyst encompasses comprehensive support and oversight across various critical areas. These areas include:
· Gathers, analyzes, and interprets data to provide actionable insights that support business decision-making.
· Responsible for conducting analysis, as well as creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
· Play a key role in identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement within the business.
· Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to assess the effectiveness of business strategies and identify areas for optimization.
· Identifying trends, patterns, and potential risks associated with the funded projects, as well as assessing the impact and effectiveness of the programs.
· Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including program managers, small business participants, and government officials.
In addition to initial reviews, the Business Intelligence Analysts will be required to support the collection of data, analyzing and interpreting data from various sources (e.g., proposal data, award data, commercialization reports, etc.) to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to FUZE program performance. Support the development and maintenance of data models, dashboards, and reports to provide meaningful visualizations and actionable recommendations to stakeholders. Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to define Business Intelligence requirements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting needs related to program objectives and grant compliance. Monitor and evaluate program performance against established benchmarks and reporting requirements, such as award timeliness metrics and commercialization success rates. Coordinate the collection of data from various sources related to SBIR/STTR applications, awards, and project progress. Ensure data completeness and accuracy, identifying and resolving inconsistencies. Maintain and update databases and tracking systems with relevant program information.
The Business Intelligence Analyst will operate as part of a Due Diligence team and will support the team in conducting both initial and ongoing reviews of companies that receive funding for research under Army FUZE programs. As stated above, the Analyst is expected to serve as a Liaison Officer, specializing in their designated areas of expertise, thereby enhancing the due diligence process and fostering seamless communication and collaboration.
Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Behavioral Sciences, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; Master's degree preferred
· 5+ years of experience in intelligence analysis, with demonstrated expertise in applying psychological principles to security assessments
· Proven experience supporting DOD, DOE, or other federal agencies in security-related roles
· Demonstrated proficiency in behavioral analysis, with specific emphasis on online and digital behavior patterns
· Strong understanding of the SBIR/STTR and technology innovation ecosystems
· Experience with due diligence processes, particularly in technology evaluation contexts
· Knowledge of foreign influence operations and technology transfer security concerns
· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex behavioral and technical data
· Superior written and verbal communication capabilities, with experience briefing senior leadership
· Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams spanning technical and security domains
· DoD Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Work Environment & Travel:
· Position may require on and off-site work at Army or DoD facilities.
· Some travel may be required for security audits, stakeholder meetings, and program oversight.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance as required by the position.
