Assembly Cut / Rough Cut Editor
ProductionHUBJob Description
We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented assembly cut editor to handle the rough cut stage of our YouTube video production workflow. This is a recurring freelance role with consistent work for the right person (1-2 projects a month, to begin). You won't be doing color grading, motion graphics, or final polish — this is purely about syncing audio (5-6 audio files), organizing multi-cam footage (2 cameras + ~8 hours of footage), and cutting down raw material into a clean, usable assembly cut ready for final edit (1-2 day delivery).
Opportunity to create social media videos, if interested.
What you'll be doing
- Sync all audio sources (5–6 mics) with multi-cam footage
- Select the best camera angle per scene/moment
- Cut the raw footage down to a tight assembly cut — removing dead air, false starts, off-topic tangents, and unusable takes
- Deliver a clean timeline ready for final editing and post-production
- Maintain a consistent, fast turnaround (approximately 2 days from footage receipt)
What we're not looking for
- Color grading or color correction
- Motion graphics or titles
- Sound design or music mixing
- Thumbnail creation or export formatting
