The Real Estate Assessments Office of Prince William County government is searching for a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser Trainee in Woodbridge, Virginia. This is one of several positions that trains and performs professional work in the appraisal of real property for assessment purposes.
About This Role:
Under the direct guidance of a supervisor, incumbents train in assessment best practices and methodologies and determine the market value of commercial real property and vacant land for county taxation purposes. Candidates will be hired as Commercial real estate appraiser trainee and follow a distinct training path to a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser position.
After the successful completion of two to three years in the training position and professional coursework, the incumbent will be eligible for promotion to and able to function as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser. Responsibilities include: conducting research for the valuation of commercial properties and vacant land; evaluating income and expense surveys and applying the results to the valuation of improved commercial properties; conducting onsite inspections to review and verify existing data and new constructions/permits; communicating with and educating taxpayers.
Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or G.E.D accompanied by 3 years of customer service experience. .
Preferences: The successful candidate will have a 4-year college degree in analytical field. They will be proficient with MS Office products and have excellent analytical skills. They will be detail oriented, accurate and meticulous. They will be able to function independently and exercise good time management with minimal supervision. The candidate must also possess excellent communication and customer service skills as they will need patience and tact to deal with taxpayers. The successful candidate will also have the following:

Special Requirements: Valid Driver's license and safe driving record
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8-4:30 or 8:30-5:00 in our Woodbridge office.
Hiring Salary Range: 28.32-34.58
