Job Title: Senior Back-End / Full Stack Developer (Java & Node.js)

Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)

Duration: 3+ Months (with Possible extension)

Client: Public Sector

Pay Rate: $80/hr - $85/hr (CAD)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer with strong expertise in Java-based frameworks and Node.js to design, develop, and support enterprise-grade, cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs.
• Translate business requirements and technical specifications into production-ready applications.
• Develop server-side logic, integrate front-end components, and manage central databases.
• Implement RESTful/SOAP APIs and microservices architectures.
• Optimize application performance across middleware, APIs, and databases.
• Ensure security best practices, PCI compliance, and WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards.
• Provide post-implementation support and technical troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring, JPA, SOAP/REST APIs, Apache Camel.
• Deep experience in Node.js for scalable middle-tier and back-end services.
• Experience with API integration, load balancing, resiliency, and service discovery.
• 10+ years of database experience (Oracle & Open Source DB).
• Strong knowledge of microservices and cloud-based architecture.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps (CI/CD, pipelines, branching, deployments).
• Experience developing secure web applications (PCI compliance).
